Attendance 500
With a maximum capacity due to government restrictions it was good to see the maximum capacity being filled for this tasty fixture . The home side started the brighter when Andrew Gillen ran through the midfield before firing over from 25 yards out . Greg Binnie was sent through into the box on the right hand side and fired a shot that went just wide right into the side net . On thirteen minutes Linlithgow created a chance but the home defence stood strong and the ball bas turned behind for a corner that came to nothing . Half way through the half a free kick to the visitors central and just outside the box gave them a chance to open the scoring but the effort went well over the bar and the chance was gone . The game was a bit of a scrappy affair with both teams finding it hard to break each other down . With five minutes remaining Linlithgow pushed for the opener but to know avail the closest coming from a throw in that was lobbed over the six yard box but Wallace was equal to Alan Docherty’s shot and well saved .
The second half started as the first half finished with Wallace making a good stop on 50 minutes . The opening goal came 4 minutes later when ALAN DOCHERTY gathered the ball in midfield and from 25 yards out fired a ball into the top right hand corner by way of a deflection of Daniel Nimmo that wrong footed Wallace . Mark Stowe had a golden opportunity to double his side lead but shot passed the post disappointingly for the Linlithgow faithful . Wallace made a great save from Jack Ogilvie on 63 minutes .Broxburn tried hard to get back on level terms and on 79 minutes a great ball across the box was agonisingly just too far in front of Michael Beagley running in at the back post . Three minutes later a corner in from the right was met by the head of Greg Nicol who sent his header crashing off the right hand post and away for a bye kick . Linlithgow should have sealed the points in the last minute of normal time when Conor McKenzie was through one on one with Wallace with the keeper coming off best saving for a corner . Linlithgow made sure of the points in injury time when Mark Stowe made his way into the box from the left hand side corner and was challenged by Graig Newall who was adjudged to have fouled the top scorer . MARK STOWE stepped up and fired a unstoppable penalty past Conor Wallace into the top right hand side .
Disappointment from the home side after a good game to watch , not to take anything from the match will take the positives out of this and move on to Saturdays game at Lothianthistle Hutchiesonvale on January the 8th with a 3pm kick off at Ainslie Park .
