Broxburn started well at Carmuirs Park today and were denied an opener by the match officials when Alexander Miller beat David Kane in the home goals in a challenge for the ball on the edge of the box and slotted home only for the foul to be given for the challenge as they thought the keeper had the loose ball in his hands and under control . On five minutes the hosts had thought they had scored when Jason deans saw his shot saved and the ball broke to David O’Brien who fired home but was adjudged to have been offside when the ball was played through . The opener came after fourteen minutes when a free kick awarded ten yards inside the visitors half out on the right was floated into the back of the box where STUART BELL out jumped Frazer Paterson to head home .On twenty minutes a great ball from Craig Scott to Ross Nimmo wide right saw the winger cut the ball back to Michael Linton who’s shot was turned round the post for a corner .From the corner Alexander Miller headed wide left . Half way through the half and Nimmo and Linton set up a chance for Nicholas Locke but the captains shot went over the bar . On 34 minutes Nimmo put a great ball into the box from the bye line but David Kane smothered the ball and the danger was averted .
Broxburn started the second half well and in the first minute Miller saw his header from an Anderson corner saved .Two minutes later Anderson put a ball into the box from the left and it broke back out to him and he curled a shot just over the bar with the keeper beaten .The visitors continued to put pressure on the home defence and Kieron Anderson was sent through on goal but good defending saw him robbed of his chance for a corner . Half way through the second half and Camelon should have doubled their lead on three occasions as the ball was put back and forward across the Burn’s goal mouth with no takers for the host’s . Craig Donaldson could have gave his side a cushion when sent free on a counter attack but rushed his shot 30 yards out and it sailed over the bar .The equaliser came with six minutes remaining when Anderson played a ball into the edge of the box and was met by the head of Miller who headed it into the path of ROSS NIMMO who should great composure to hold of the challenge of the big defender before slotting home under the keeper .In injury time Alan Sneddon ran through on a long ball but saw his shot well saved by Connor Wallace and the ball broke up the park through Miller who got to the bye line wide on the right before crossing to the back post where he found Darren Gribben who mishit his shot into the side net when all were waiting for the net to bulge . A draw was the least we deserved today and we go into next week’s game away to Broughty with confidence of keeping the unbeaten run going .
