Rab Scott won £50 in this week’s Keydraw but George Sives failed to pick the correct key to open the jackpot box so next week’s jackpot will be £700 and 14 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box . Next week’s draw will be on Sunday the 27th of June at 5pm on the club’s Facebook page .We thank George for his time  to come and make the draw .

Due to circumstance’s beyond our control we have had to cancel tomorrow nights friendly with neighbours Pumpherston .We hope this is not to much of an inconvenience and will keep everybody posted as to future matches . STAY SAFE ITS NOT OVER

Arrangements for spectators for the friendly at Pumpherston on Wednesday the 23rd of June at 7pm . Spectators will pay by donation at the top gate into a bucket and will be asked for their name and telephone number on entry for track and trace purposes . Please come early to save congestion at the gate  .

BROXBURN ATH V EASTHOUSE’S LILY

A good run out for the first preseason warm up games with good positives to be taken from the game all round . Good goals from Cameron Ross in the first half followed by a Ross Allum rocket and Ross Nimmo after a great cross in from Cameron Ross  finished a polished display with Easthouses getting a goal back between our 2nd and 3rd . Cople of training sessions before our next friendly away to Pumpherston  June the 23rd with a 7pm kick off  . Details of how to gain entry to the game will be issued in due course .

This week’s keydraw was won by Brian Hughes ,who won £50  but young Sammi who done the draw this week failed to pick the right key to open the jackpot box and next week’s draw on Sunday the 20th of June at 5pm live on Broxburn Athletic’s Facebook page  We thank Sammi for her time to make the draw . Next week’s draw will have a jackpot of  £650 with 15 keys to pick from to open the jackpot box .

SOUTH CHALLENGE CUP

The draw for the South Challenge cup took place last night and was the biggest senior cup draw since 1893/94 season with 161 clubs in the regionalized draw .Broxburn Athletic were in the South East pool and have been drawn away to Berwick Rangers in the second round after a bye in the first . The game is scheduled for Saturday the 16th of October and is a mouth watering tie to get .

The South Region Challenge cup was introduced in 2007 to replace the Scottish Qualifying cup which was scrapped when the Scottish cup became an all in draw .  It is open to clubs from the Lowland League ,East of Scotland , South of Scotland and West of Scotland leagues and accounts for a total of 161 clubs .

To manage the cup better this season the first two rounds have been regionalised and split into four regions . The third round onwards (last 64) will be all in  draw .

Further scheduled round dates are as follows   3rd rnd   November 20th 2021 , 4th rnd February 5th 2022 , 5th rnd March 5th 2022 , quarter finals  April 2nd 2022 , semi finals April 30th  2022 with the final scheduled for May 22nd 2022

Unfortunately for Gavin ,  Stephen Stuart, our Programme editor , who made the draw today failed to pick the correct key to open the jackpot box .  Next week’s draw on Sunday the 28th of  May at 5pm ,live on Broxburn Athletic’s Facebook page  will have a jackpot of £500 with 17 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box .

Barker Backing The Brox

We’re delighted to welcome Jackson Barker to Broxburn Athletic.

Barker arrives at Albyn Park following a five-season spell with Heriot Watt University. The 22-year-old joined the Uni side from Currie Star.

Chris Townsley, Broxburn Manager, commented on the new signing: “Jackson is a pacey and creative player. He is exciting and someone who can offer us something different in the new season.

“We wanted to add extra speed in attacking areas and we think Jackson can provide us with that. He’s young but has tons of potential and one fans will be excited to see I’m sure.”

Barker expressed his happiness at arriving at the Albyn: “It’s good to be here and to meet the rest of the

team. I’m just pleased to join a club like Broxburn with such a solid set-up.

“I’ve played at this level for a decent amount of time now despite my age and I’ve come to Broxburn to kick-on and win things.”

The team continue to train within Scottish Government Covid-19 guidelines.
