On a cold damp day it Was Blackburn who had the first chance when Justin Watson made a good run and his shot was blocked by the home defence . A minute later Nicholas Locke got into the box and gave the ball out right to Nimmo who’s ball to the back of the box was met by the head of John Grant but his effort went over the bar . Dominico Gibson got on the end of a corner but sent his shot past the far post . Broxburn were enjoying some good possession but Blackburn defended stubbornly . Half way through the half a cross into the box was headed over by Richard Hutton .On the half hour Andrew Grant set up Nimmo who turned and shot wide right . The opener came a minute later when a corner in to the box broke to CONOR KELLY who made no mistake from ten yards out . Two minutes later Andrew Grant sent a shot wide left of the target . Broxburn went in at half time 2-0 up as in 40 minutes GORDON DONALDSON headed home from a corner in from the right .
Blackburn almost got back in the game on 49 minutes when a free kick sent in to the box from McDowall was met by the head of Campbell but his effort crashed off the bar and was cleared .Cameron Ross made a good run and forced a great save on 51 minutes . Broxburn killed the game on the hour mark when CRAIG SCOTT sent Ross Nimmo away down the left and as he moved forward Nimmo returned the ball to him to fire home in the bottom right hand corner . With 66 minutes on the clock David Howie forced a save from Connor Wallace . Blackburn got a goal back on 74 minutes when a good ball to DAVID HOWIE set him up for a shot that was heading to the bottom right hand corner but was deflected into the left hand wrong footing Wallace in the home goals .Broxburn were reduced to ten men having used all their subs Christopher Townsley hobbled off injured . This gave Blackburn a bit of hope and McDowell sent a shot wide a minute later after Howie set him up . Next it was David Taylor who tested Wallace but the keeper dealt with it easily .
