The early exchanges in this game were cagy with the first shot on target when Owen Ronald fired in a free kick that Connor Wallace dealt with easily . Broxburn were dealt a blow on 20 minutes when Shaun Harrison was carried off after a fifty fifty challenge and taken to hospital . All though shaken Broxburn pressed on and on 24 minutes a swift move down the left saw Conor Kelly get into the box and square passed to NICHOLAS LOCKE who fired his side into the lead . Alexander Miller thought he had doubled his sides lead on 32 minutes but it was ruled off for offside . Jack Beesley tested McKinven from a free kick on 35 minutes . Linlithgow equalised on 41 minutes when a slip in the home defence saw TOMMY COYNE through on goal and he made no mistake from ten yards out on the right to level the game going into half time .
The second half saw Craig Scott have an early attempt blocked . On 48 minutes the visitors took the lead when a corner in from the right saw PATRICK SCULLION out jump everyone to head into the roof of the net giving Wallace no chance . Jack Beesley was left frustrated when on 52 minutes a long ball sent him through but it just had too much pace and the advancing keeper came and gathered the ball . Owen Ronald made a good run down the right into the box before firing a shot wide left of the target . An hour gone and Ronald turned and shot off the bar and clear of danger . Linlithgow went further ahead on 61 minutes when a free kick into the box was played along to TOMMY COYNE on the edge of the six yard box to head home . Craig Scott saw an attempt deflected for a corner on 69 minutes .Two minutes later Miller shot over from the edge of the box . Locke just failed to get on the end of a long ball on 78 minutes . As Broxburn tried to get back into the game Craig Scott set up miller but the striker shot wide right . A minute later Scott then Locke saw attempts blocked . John Grant saw a shot come back off the post and was cleared from the danger area . With six minutes to go a shot from MacLennan was parried by Wallace and John Grant cleared from the area . Wallace saved well from Ross Allum on 88 minutes . That was the last opportunity of the match with Linlithgow getting the boost they wanted before the Scottish cup tie with Falkirk and We will have to dust our selves down and pick our heads up for our tie at Inverurie Loco’s .
