conditions. Broxburn made 4 changes from their last game at Tranent, Binnie, Tait, Barker and Newall

Broxburn started on the front foot and early move by Greg Binnie to Joe Tait to Gordon Donaldson almost produced an opener but for the visiting defence stepping in and knocking out for a corner . On 7 minutes Binnie should have done better when a good timed run and ball over the top saw him clear with a one on one but the Broxburn man pushed his shot well wide of the target . Musselburgh had their first chance when Darren Downie got the ball in the box but his shot was blocked by Shaun Harrison and out for a corner . hit a Musselburgh defender, there were claims for handball but nothing was awarded.
The visitors responded in 31 minutes Woods slipping the ball to Smith who had a clear shot at goal but
he slid the ball past the post.
In 33 minutes Broxburn took the lead Newall did fine work down the right his cross to the back post was
neatly controlled by JOE TAIT and then he fired in a shot into the top corner of the net giving McGinlay no chance.
The Brox had their tails up and had a great chance to double their advantage Binnie flicking the ball out to Donaldson who was left with a clear run on McGinlay from the left side but his shot was straight at the keeper, the ball broke to Tait who curled his effort just wide of the right hand post.
The visitors fashioned a decent chance in 38 minutes after good work down the left Smith controlled well in the penalty box laid the ball off to Downie who struck his shot well only for Donaldson to get in a timely block for a corner.
From Jeffries corner Page headed just over the home bar.
Murray was booked for dissent.
In 40 minutes with a potential offside in the build up Musselburgh were awarded a penalty. Donoghue
took an extra touch his attempted clearance hitting an opponent the ball breaking to Smith who was
fouled by Murray. JOSH JEFFRIES dispatched the spot kick into the net to tie the score.

effectively using the wind which McGinlay had to watch closely before confidently gathering.

Tait was having an excellent game and he put over a great cross in 51 minutes from the left which
McGinlay claimed well as Brass was on hand to punish any error.
Musselburgh’s first sight of the Brox goal in the 2nd half came after good work down the left between
Woods and Smith giving Orru a chance to cross which he did forcing a diving save from Donoghue which
he got a strong hand on to guide to safety.

from the rebound his cross found Greenhill but Fiddler stepped in to avert the danger and clear.

he couldn’t get enough on his flick to beat the keeper.
At the other end great defending from Murray prevented Smith getting in on goal.
Newall had been having some excellent runs down the right getting into the box he was tackled and just
couldn’t get a cross in and the ball was scrambled clear.

A long ball from Gillen found the Brass , Binnie combination again this time Brass finding his effort
blocked.

penalty. McGinlay was booked for his challenge. GARY BRASS confidently converted the spot kick.

In 80 minutes King tried to flick the ball over Harrison with hand ball been given just outside the box on the right. A great cross was played to the back post but Page was given offside.
The comeback was complete by the Brox in 81 minutes Brass won a free kick which was taken long and
deep by Harrison Brass won the header which was partially saved by McGinlay but ANDREW MAIR was on hand
to flick the ball into the net.
In 85 minutes the hard working Newall went down with cramp having to be replaced by Cowley.
The Brox were still pressing for goals Tait’s shot being blocked for a corner.
In 93 minutes a Gregory cross took a deflection off Gillen and was right on the money and needed
another strong diving save from Donoghue to prevent a late equaliser.
In 94 minutes Harrison spotted McGinlay off his line and tried an audacious effort from the half way line which beat the keeper but just went over the bar.
An excellent comeback win and team performance from Broxburn against an opponent just above us in
the league. This sets us up nicely for the upcoming League Cup campaign which starts for the Brox on
12th March at home to Craigroyston.
