It was Broxburn who had the first opportunity when Andrew Mair fired in a shot and Watt turned the ball for a corner . On 8 minutes Broxburn had a strong claim for a hand ball in the penalty but for the second game in a row the officials did not want to know . Broxburn were pushing hard and a corner in 12 minutes broke out to Murray who shot wide right . Half way through the half Nicholas Reid was in on goal in the right hand side of the box but Shaun Donoghue was equal to the shot and turned the ball away At the other end Binnie saw a shot deflect for a corner a minute later .The corner played in was met by the head of DANIEL NIMMO who fired home out leaping everybody to win the ball .
The hosts equalised less than ten minutes later when a ball on the edge of the box was cleared three times breaking to a home player three times before a back heel saw NICHOLAS REID from sixteen yards fire into the bottom right hand corner . .During the melee previous Paul Tansey was lying poleaxed in a fifty fifty challenge with Dan Nimmo and had a serious head injury that no one noticed and Paul had to be replaced . On forty minutes Gary Brass met a ball in from the left and headed back across goals but was too far in front of Binnie coming in at the back post .Two more chances fell to Nimmo from a corner which he headed over the bar and a good one two with Binnie saw the big striker fluff his lines with a miskick as he tried to turn the ball home under pressure .
A mix up in midfield saw Penicuik steal the ball and were awarded a free kick which Baptie fired goal ward but Shaun saved well . Good play down the right by Broxburn saw a shot deflected for a corner . The corner in was headed just wide of the right hand post . On 55 minutes a good run down the right by Reece Hope , saw the Penicuik players attempt go just wide .On the hour mark good play saw a Brass shot from just inside the box on the right evade the keeper but came off the far post and back towards the keeper with Binnie bearing down on the loose ball the referee gave a free kick as he thought the keeper had it under control .Half way through the second half and Robert Watt looked lively to tip a Binnie 20 yarder over the bar . The corner in was met by Nimmo but this time his header shaved the wrong side of the right hand post . Up the other end a couple of minutes later Penicuik should have taken the lead when Baptie put a great ball into the six yard box in front of Lumbert Keteleza who snatch his opportunity wide right of the target .
A fair result with both sides claims to the three points during the game . We now go into cup action at home to Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts on Saturday with more confidence after a good team performance against the league challengers .
