Gordon Donaldson made a good run down the left passing to Jordan Orru who’s cross into the box came of a defender and went safely into the arms of Dean Bevridge in the Vale’s goal . The deadlock was broken on 17minutes when THOMAS PENKER got on the end of a ball into the box where he fired into the bottom left hand corner from ten yards out .Half way through the half , with a bit more composure they could have doubled their lead when Dylan Weldon was put through wide right in the box but fired wildly wide of the target . The visitors made them pay in 29 minutes when a corner into the box was headed back across the box by Dan Nimmo and the ball fell to GRY BRASS who from an awkward position managed to force the ball past the defender and keeper . Daniel Garvey saw an attempt to equalise go high and wide a minute later . With ten minutes of the half left Henderson shot high and wide . A minute later Broxburn took the lead when good play on the right saw a final pass to DARREN DOWNIE who kept his composure to lob the keeper from the edge of the box to open his account . The lead was short lived as two minutes later a lapse in concentration at the back saw a cross ball find KYLE MITCHELL free inside the box on the left who fired home the equaliser . In a sea saw first half a minute later , Jack Sayers and Andrew Gillen combined before the latter sent a great cross into the box and found the head of DARREN DOWNIE who headed home for a first half lead .
Broxburn made a change at half time bringing on Ross Nimmo for David Churchill .Darren sent a free kick crashing off the wall as he seeked his hat trick on 52 minutes . A minute later a corner into the box saw Dan Nimmo head back across the box where Downie’s header was cleared off the line . Just past the hour mark the visitors made another change With Errol Douglas coming on for Gary Brass . This move paid off three minutes later as Douglas gathered the ball wide left cut inside beating a couple of defenders along the bye line before laying it on a plate for ROSS NIMMO three yards out to turn it home , and double the visitors lead . A minute later CRAIG HENDERSON won the ball and barged his way through the defence before firing home to more or less seal the points . The visitors could have made the score line more impressive as Greg Binnie running into the box on the right saw his shot on the turn stopped by Dean Bevridge .
With no more action Broxburn were delighted to take a victory at a difficult venue and we will endeavour to carry the performance forward into the next match at home on Tuesday the 2nd of August to Musselburgh Athletic in the league with a 7.30pm kick off
