Today we return to league action with the visit of Edinburgh based side Hutchison Vale to Albyn Park  in the EOSFL Premier Division.

Broxburn make 4 changes to the midweek 1-0 win over Haddington Athletic. Greg Binnie, Lewis Turner, Ross Nimmo come in for Darren Downie, Connor Thomson and Nick Locke.

Visitors Hutchison Vale lie in 6th going into the match. In their last fixture, they lost 3-1 to Tranent in the 3rd round of the South Challenge Cup at Foresters Park.

Broxburn Athletic are in Red and White shirts, white shorts and red and white socks and start with a 4-3-3 formation.

Hutchison Vale are in yellow and black shirts, black shorts, and socks, they start with a 3-5-2 formation.

Hutchison Vale get off to a best possible start in the second minute. Marcus Miller’s clearance hits off Callum Donaldson and fly’s into the Broxburn box right at the feet off Sean Wringe who is free and finishes low into the net.

Good play by Greg Binnie who latches on to a Marcus Miller long ball, he gets in front of the Hutchison Vale defender and draws a foul at the corner flag.

Good play in the middle of the park by Broxburn. Good one touch football by Greg Binnie, Andy Gullen and Lewis Turner, which ends with Turner winning the corner.

Hutchison Vale’s goalscorer Sean Wringe is lucky not to see red after leading with an elbow in a challenge with Greg Page. After protests from the home support and players, referee Kelly showed Wringe a yellow card.

GOAL Broxburn! Ross Nimmo delivers a great cross over on the right for Gary Brass who heads home leaving Hutchison Vale keeper Kevin Swain no chance.

Chance for Hutchison Vale. Shot by Scott Maxwell is well saved by Bob Watt. They have another soon after, Kyle Scott takes on Marcus Miller and delivers a low dangerous cross over the Broxburn goal, but not one Hutchison Vale player gambled.

Big chance for a Gary Brass Hatrick in 39 minutes. Marty Munro delivers for unmarked Brass whose header was wide of the right-hand post.

Lewis Turner is booked for a late challenge. From the free kick veteran Hutchison Vale centre back Richard Miller’s 35-yard free kick is palmed away by Bob Watt. Broxburn.

GOAL Broxburn! Like the second goal, Ross Nimmo delivers from the right and Gary Brass heads home for his second goal.

Long ball into the box by Thomas Penker bounces over Bob Watt into the net to bring Hutchison Vale back into the game.

GOAL Broxburn. Long ball forward finds Ross Nimmo, he takes a great touch and pokes it home for a 4th for Broxburn.

Ross Nimmo takes on the Hutchison Vale left back and forces the corner. Hutchison Vale get it half cleared, but it deflects out to Greg page who shot deflects narrowly over. From the next corner Greg Page deflected header is just wide of goal.

Stoppage in play as ex Broxburn defender Shaun Harrison goes down in agony. He has to be carried off the park. We wish him all the best and hopefully the injury isn’t too serious. Referee gives a bounce ball just outside the box. From it Hutchison Vale win possession and get into the danger area, Owen Walton heads home for a late consolation for the hosts.

Tonight we return to league action , with a trip down the A1where we take on Haddington Athletic in the EOSFL Premier Division .Broxburn make 4 changes to the team that defeated Lesmahagow in the South Challenge Cup on Saturday . Darren Downie , Ben Davidson , Nick Locke and Greg page come in for Greg Binnie , Dan Nimmo, Liam Campbell and Ross Nimmo .

Home side Haddington Athletic lie in 4th place going into this one , level with rivals Dunbar United and 1 point behind 2nd place Jeanfield Swifts . In their last fixture , they lost at home to Sauchie 3-2 in league action on Saturday the 7th October .

Haddington Athletic are in marron and sky blue kit and playing 4-3-3 .

Broxburn are in gold strips , black shorts and gold and black socks and are playing 3-5-2 .

Good start for Broxburn in the early stages . Good running by Marky Munro who drives forward but has no options and is eventually cleared by Haddington . Marky Munro gets to the byeline and delivers a good cross in . It’s forced for a corner . From the corner Conor Thomson nearly catches out the keeper McLellan who dives to  push it away. it ends up coming back to corner taker  Thomson who shoots way over on the volley.

21 minutes in and we have the first real effort of the game comes from Haddington as Guy McGarry shoots wide of the left hand .

GOAL! Darren Downie wins the ball in the corner . He finds BEN DAVIDSON  who’s powerful effort beats McLellan for the opener on 23 minutes

Huge shouts for a penalty from the home support as Ali Simpson goes down from a long ball . Shot by Ross King is just over the bar for the home side .
