Andrew Gillen played a good ball in from the right for Scott who’s cross into the box could not be directed goal ward by the head of Nicholas Locke and the ball went wide left of the target . A minute later at the other end a good ball in from the right found the head of Gary Fergus who should have done better than send his header over the bar . MacLaren set up Robbie Holden but the latter’s header was well saved by Wallace . Just before the half hour mark a corner into the box was cleared by Christopher Townsley but only as far as Connor MacLaren who’s shot went just wide left .A corner for the hosts was cleared out but only as far as Christopher Scott who’s shot was attempted to be diverted goal ward by Christopher Anton but he turned it wide right .  Tradgedy struck with seven minutes of the half remaing when Conor Kelly went down after a challenge and the game was stopped as fear of a serious injury was quickly established .The game was held up for almost 45 minutes before restarting the remaining 7 minutes of the half after Conor was taken by Ambulance to Perth hospital .  With two minutes of the half remaining a good ball into the box was met by Nicholas Locke who knocked it to Greg Binnie who in turn headed wide right of the target to the disappointment of the striker .

Early in the second half Paul Simpson created room before shooting from the edge of the box just over the bar . On 55 minutes a great ball through to Locke from Binnie was thwarted by the advancing keeper who done enough to divert the ball for a corner with Locke ready to strike . Christopher Dodd forced a good save from Wallace on 58 minutes . At the other end Craig Scott saw an attempt at goal well saved .  The opening goal came a minute later when a shot from Holden was well saved  by Wallace  and it broke out to SCOTT SMITH who fired into the bottom left hand corner . A good free kick into the box found the head of Greg Binnie but it went wide left .  Ross Nimmo had a shot that went wide right with 11 minutes remaing in the darkening gloom . The visitors pressed to get back in the game but the Jeanfield defence held out under pressure with chances being created for the visitors but none finding the back of the net . Not a good day  for us or indeed Conor Kelly who was diagnosed as having dislocated his arm  and not as complicated or as  bad as was first feared .He was released from hospital later that evening with his arm repositioned and pain killers . Half way through the half Darren Smith put a cross come shot into the box and Wallace had to look lively as he tipped the ball over the bar . With half an hour gone Ian Gray got down the right and his cross into the box found the head of Tommy Coyne but his effort was easily save as he failed to get any power on the header . A minute later Cameron Ross shot wildly over the bar .Broxburn’s best chance came on 36 minutes when Alexander Miller was through with a defender to beat and attempted to go round him but MacKenzie stopped him in his tracks with Ross Nimmo free on the right with a clear run in on goal .Nicholas Locke was through and shot over on 40 minutes .With the half coming to a close Roddy MacLennan robbed Miller of the ball in midfield and ran through on goals  before shooting which Wallace saved .

Two minutes into the second half Nimmo put a ball into Miller who headed over . In what was going to be a tight game it was Christopher Dodd who had the first opportunity for the hosts after 4 minutes when he fired in a shot that didn’t trouble Connor Wallace in the visitors goal . Four minutes later a corner in from the left saw Christopher Anton get a free header but it went wide right of the target . Broxburn created a chance on ten minutes when Greg Binnie got down the right and crossed into the box where Connor Kelly headed over the bar . The visitors had strong claims for a penalty when Kelly was fouled in the box but the referee waved away claims .  On sixteen minutes a corner in from the left was met by Nicholas Locke who was adjudged to have deliberately handled the ball and was booked for his trouble .Jack Beasley got down the right in twenty minutes but his cross into the box was inches to far in front of the incoming Binnie . two minutes later Dodd made room twenty five yards out to shoot but fired it over the bar . On 38 minutes Ross Nimmo sent a ball into the box that Binnie headed wide when unchallenged  .With four minutes left of the half Dodd’s saw a shot blocked for a corner by Christopher Townsley .

Fergus had a good opportunity to regain the lead two minutes later with a free header  from a corner but it went wide left . The hosts did take the lead on 62 minutes when a ball into the box was knocked back out and as the Broxburn defence moved out the ball was lobbed over them where clearly three Jeanfield players were offside but no flag was raised by the assistant and CHRISTOPHER DODD slotted the ball home .  Wallace had to tip a shot over the bar two minutes later . with ten minutes remaining Dodd’s saw an effort cleared off the line  . Extra time was needed when with two minutes remaining Greg Binnie knocked on a long ball over the home defence for CONOR KELLY to run on to and score  to extend the game .

In the first period of extra time Conor Kelly came close on 100 minutes when his shot from the left went just wide of the right hand post .Craig Scott was set up by Binnie two minutes later but his effort went wide left of the goals .

The hosts took the lead in the first minute of the second period of extra time when Rhys Davies was through and Wallace saved his effort for a corner .When the corner came in it fell into the middle of the box where AARON WHITEHEAD prodded the ball home .. With the visitors trying to get another equaliser  Jeanfield secured their passage with the last kick of the ball when a quick throw found RICHARD DONOVAN in the box and he scored  before the referee blew for time up at the restart . A bare bones squad today but everyone gave their all and were maybe unfortunate to go out the cup .

This was to be the first official match on Dunipace’s new ground and a fine set up they have got .It was Dunipace who made the first chance of the game when Ryan Mack made a good run down the right before sending a great ball across the visitor’s box but no one was there to take advantage . Broxburn took the lead on four minutes when a free kick 30 yards out on the left hand side was floated deep into the box by Jack Beasley the home defender turned the ball past his own keeper to give the visitors a gift start . It was two nil on nine minutes when ALEXANDER MILLER was sent through into the box on the left hand side he went past the keeper to the bye line then cur back past the recovering keeper and defender’s getting back on the line to fire home through a crowded near post to score . Craig Scott had an attempt for goal on 13 minutes but his effort went well over the bar Beasley sent Miller through again on 17 minutes but the striker’s shot went wide right . Two minutes later a rare attack on the visitors goal saw Barry Tulloch battle his way into the box before hitting  his shot into the side netting .On 20 minutes Conor Kelly had a chance but as he made room for the shot the defence got back to clear the danger . Half way through the half and Beasley got down the left hand side before setting up Nicholas Locke who’s shot went wide left . Beasley himself saw a shot saved on 25 minutes . A minute later Miller pulled the best out of Jordan Alan in the host’s goal Aproaching the half hour mark and a short corner played to Locke saw the captain not get the full power behind the shot and Alan saved easily . Ross Nimmo and Andrew Gillen combined well down the right before the later sent a ball across the box that was turned behind for a corner . The corner came in and was defended for a corner at the other side . This corner was cleared but only as far as Gordon Donaldson who floated a ball into the box where ALEXANDER MILLER  steered the ball with his head into the back of the net Aiden Stevenson tried his luck from 30 yards out but saw his effort go wide right .Kelly was set up by Miller on 39 minutes but Alan saved from the striker . As the half was coming to an end Nimmo and Gillen set up a chance from the right but the ball into the box was cleared for a corner . The corner came into the box and Miller got his head to it but his effort was cleared off the line . Jack Beasley had an opportunity before the half time whistle when a ball into the host’s box was cleared out to him but his shot went over the bar .

The second half started with Broxburn still taking the game to their opponents  and Nimmo sent Locke into the box but his effort was cleared out for a corner . Fifty three minutes gone and Locke put a good ball into the box but there was no takers for the eccelent ball in . Broxburn thought they had added to the scoreline when two efforts were saved then blocked before Miller saw an effort bounce ,by all accounts over the line but spun back out and the referee gave no goal .(NO ASSISTANTS TODAY ) ,Scott saw an effort saved on 55 minutes . Aiden Stevenson made room for a shot 20 yards out but his effort went over the bar . Two minutes later Kelly provided Nimmo with a chance but his shot was blocked and cleared . On 59 minutes the game was put out of reach by the visitor’s when a free kick 25 yards out slightly left of centre was fired in over the wall into the top left hand corner by NICHOLAS LOCKE  .  Alan McFadden saw a effort from 20 yards go over the bar .Craig Scott almost caught Alan out when he had a free kick 35 yards out wide on the left ,when everyone was expecting a ball into the box the midfielder fired for goals just missing the left hand post with Alan no where near it in the goals . Miller and Scott Richards had chances saved then blocked on 71 minutes . Miller set up Scott on 73 minutes but his shot went just over the bar . With 11 minutes remaining Dunipace got a consolation when CHRIS MOULANGOU  was sent into the box and he fired past the idle Connor Wallace to score . Two minutes later the same player got down the left and cut along the bye line before hitting the side net with an effort on goal . With six minutes left Nicholas Locke flighted a great ball from a free kick out on the right and Shaun Harrison knows he could have done better with his free header going wide right of the target . Miller saw a shot well saved on 86 minutes and when it broke to Scott Richards  out on the left and he bent a great shot into the top right corner but it was just too high and struck the corner of the woodwork and bounced down into the arms of the grateful Alan . The last effort of the match came when Gregor Dryden had a shot from well out that went just over the bar . A semi final spot at home to Camelon is the reward for this victory with and we fully deserved to be there .A tough semi final in prospect but one I am sure the squad will be up for when it comes around .
