Broxburn started brightly and in the opening minute Alexander Murray and Ross Nimmo worked a good one two with Nimmo’s effort being deflected for a corner . On eight minutes The home side broke away with Montgomery passing through the defence intended for Reynolds but the pass was too strong and Shaun Donoghue gathered easily . A minute later the visitors were awarded a free kick 23 yards out after a foul on Nimmo but the free kick was crashed off the defensive wall . The home side took the lead on 13 minutes with counter attacking football Robbie George sped down the left hand side beyond the chasing defence and when in the box he squared it across the six yard box to DARYL McKENZIE who slotted home unchallenged from six yards out at the back right hand post . Broxburn got on level terms half way through the half when a Scot Richards corner to the edge of the box and found Alexander Miller who’s goal ward header was met by the head of ALEXANDER MURRAY who steered the ball away from the keeper into the top left hand corner . Just after the half hour mark Scott Richards was unlucky to see his shot shave the outside of the left hand post . Nicholas Locke made a good run down the right hand side on 33 minutes and his cross into the box was scrambled clear by the home defence under pressure . On 38 minutes Murray turned and shot but Darryl Burns saved well . On the break away Townsley got back to block an effort from Mathew Reynolds . The visitors took the lead on 40 minutes when a ball through to ALEXANDER MURRAY who’s determination got the better of both defender and goalkeeper to slide the ball into the empty net . A minute later Locke got down the right hand side again and an excellent ball into the box was saved by Burns .
Two minutes into the second half and a corner played in found Miller who laid it off to Chris Townsley who shot over the bar . On fifty minutes good play down the right by miller saw Burns at his best to cut out the cross . Before the hour mark Miller tried to play in his strike partner Murray but was just too strong with the pass and it went out for a bye kick . Thirty three minutes gone and Broxburn played the ball down the right with Miller’s cross being turned behind for a corner . The corner came in and Miller saw his shot well saved by Burns before his defence cleared for a throw in .From the throw in Kieran Anderson got the ball and made room before shooting to which Burns again saved and kept his side in the game . Three quarters of the game gone and Murray put a great ball through to Anderson but the advancing keeper again saved his side . Nicholas Locke got down the right again two minutes later but his cross was dealt with by the defence . Locke saw an attempt at goal on 72 minutes go well wide of the target . Alexander Murray laid the ball off to Scott Richards who in turn laid it back to the striker who’s shot went over the bar . Anderson made a good run into the box with 12 minutes left but his shot hit the side netting . Gordon Donaldson sent a pass through to Anderson who’s shot was just wide right of the target from the left hand side . Miller saw a header from a long ball into the box easily saved with seven minutes left . Forfar should have equalised on 85 minutes when Montgomery’s cross field pass from left to the back right of the box found Marc Van Der Kuhl but he rushed his shot and sent it very wide right of goals .Miller created a chance with two minutes left and ran across the box before seeing shot turned behind for a corner . Broxburn pressed for more goals right to the end with a lengthy injury time due to the bad injury to Forfar’s David Rae but no more goals were forthcoming . We wish David a speedy recovery from what looks a nasty injury and he will be back playing soon . A comfortable win today and one to build on going into the remainder of the season starting with a trip to Kennoway Star next week .

A minute later Nimmo had a shot from inside the box from a corner floated in but his shot went wide and high . On Nine minutes Tommy Coyne got the better of Gillen on the left and got to the bye line before cutting back to Colin Strickland who shot wide right of the goals . Coyne turned and shot from the edge of the 18 yards box and Wallace took two attempts to grasp the ball on 14 minutes . Coyne was getting down the left at will and a minute later cut inside and shot from a tight angle which Wallace turned behind for a corner . The opening goal came a minute later on 17 minutes when a through in down the right was played in an attempted clearance by Scott went across the goals and GRANT GAVIN turned the ball into the net past his own keeper from a yard out . A minute later Scott Richards played a good ball down the left for Murray who’s shot was saved . With three minutes left of the half Coyne and Strickland played a good one two cutting open the visiting defence with Coyne’s shot coming off the bar . Linlithgow took a two goal lead in at half time thanks to a penalty when Strickland was deemed to have been brought down by Connor Wallace in the box and TOMMY COYNE scored from the spot kick into the bottom left hand corner .
Three minutes into the second half and Broxburn got back in the game when ALEXANDER MURRAY turned and shot past hill into the bottom right hand corner . . Murray had another attempt two minutes later but his shot went wide left .Two minutes later at the other end Colin Strickland set up Ruari Maclennan but he shot wide and high . Linlithgow restored their two goal advantage on the hour mark when a corner in from the left found the unmarked COLIN STRICKLAND who’s attempt found the back of the net despite the efforts of Nimmo on the line . Broxburn’s chances of stage any come back were dealt a blow on 65 minutes when Ross Nimmo was sent off for a second yellow card after a rash tackle on the half way line . Darren Smith, five minutes later , was through on goal but Connor Wallace saved . Tommy Coyne hit the wood work for the second time when his shot came off the bar . The final scoring came on 80 minutes when a ball over the top of the stretched visiting defence saw Strickland advance on goal and he squared the ball just inside the box to the on running JAMIE MacKENZIE who made no mistake in securing the points . Not a good day from all involved and we need to improve if we are not to let the season peter out in disappointing displays .

From the kick off the visitors went on the attack with Alexander Miller down the right but his ball into the box was cut out by the keeper .A minute later Kieron Anderson lobbed a ball into the box but it would not come down quick enough for Miller .Broxburn had started the brighter and Nicholas Locke set up another attack in the first five minutes sending Miller down the right but once more Hall cut out the ball into the box . On eight minutes Miller saw a shot go wide and high from just inside the box .On nine minutes Alexander Murray was brought down 30 yards out from goal and Kieran Anderson sent the free kick goal ward but Stuart Hall pulled of a great save at his top left hand corner and as the ball broke to Miller he shot over the bar . A good move after quarter of an hour saw Craig Scott pull a shot wide left from outside the box .Stuart Hall saved well from Scott Richards a couple of minutes later after being set up by Alexander Murray . The opening goal came two minutes later when Anderson sent Andrew Gillen down the right hand side and his ball into box found SCOTT RICHARDS who fired into the net . A minute later at the other end a corner was met by the head of Rikki Dair but his header went wide taking a deflection on the way for a corner . Just after half way through the half Calum Adamson made a good run to the bye line on the right hand side and cut the ball back to the on running Mark Allan who shot just past the right hand post . The half hour mark saw a good ball into the box by Murray headed for a corner by Rikki Dair . With eight minutes left Richards should have doubled his side’s lead when Murray set him up but he shot over the bar .
The hosts came out the second half and were in determined mood as the pinned the visitors back . A minute in and Calum Adamson shot over from outside the box Almost an hour gone and a free kick into the box saw miller send a header just wide left of the goal . The Haws got their equaliser on 65 minutes when a ball into the box was not dealt with by the visiting defence and it fell to DANIEL WATT who had time to turn and shoot home from just inside the box into the bottom right hand corner . A minute later Miller set up Murray and his shot was tipped away for a corner . At the other end Adamson headed wide left of the target . With quarter of the game remaining Donaldson played the ball to Murray who turned and shot but Hall saved comfortably . Russell Grierson saw a shot saved on 75 minutes and when the ball broke out the home midfielder shot for goal but it hit his own player lying on the ground and bounced away to safety . Paul Allan saw a ball played into box from the left hand side come off the corner of the right hand post and bar and the defence cleared the danger . With a couple of minutes remaining the home keeper was booked for a challenge on Ross Nimmo just outside the box and Murray’s free kick was parried and the defender mopped up just failing to keep the ball in play at the expense of a corner . The corner was played in and it broke out to Donaldson 20 yards out but the defender sent his shot just wide left of the target . A draw was probably a fair result in the end but we could have finished it in the first had we had a little more rub of the green .

In four minutes Alexander Miller got a shot away that was saved .Two minutes later Grant Lawson couldn’t get his shot on target after it broke to him from a Logan Davie effort that was saved . At the other end Miller saw a shot deflect for a corner . The opening goal came after 15 minutes when a ball in from the right over the defence was allowed to bounce and GRANT LAWSON was on hand toguide his header over Wallace in the visitors goals and into the net . Lawson turned and shot from the edge of the box that Wallace saved well 4 minutes later . Lawson was causing the visitors problems and half way through the half Wallace had to be at his best to save an attempt from the on form forward .Paul Lunan saw an effort go wide on 37 minutes when the ball was cleared out from a corner . Two minutes later Alexander Murray got into the box well but shot over the bar from an angle on the right hand side . .Broxburn got back on level terms just before half time when Alexander Miller got to the bye line cut inside and squared the ball to SCOTT RICHARDS who slid the ball home from three yards . The home side had a good opportunity to take a half time lead when Lawson got the ball on the right hand side and passed along the edge of the 18 yard box to Stephen McNally who fired over the bar .
The first chance of the second half fell to the visitors when a corner into the box was cleared out to Craig Scott but he shot over the bar .On fifty minutes the visitors should have taken the lead when Murray got into the box from the right and passed the ball to Anderson who with the goal at his mercy fired over from 4 yards out . Just before the hour mark a good move by the hosts saw Connor Brise get down the left before cutting back to Bryan Deasley who’s shot was saved at the expense of a corner . From the corner the same player shot over when the ball broke out to him . He was not to be denied his goal and on the hour mark a ball was cut back to him from the bye line and BRYAN DEASLEY made no mistake to bury the ball in the net . With 75 minutes gone a ball into the box came off several players before Brise fired a shot wide right . Three minutes later Murray got to the edge of the box before laying off to Anderson who shot wide and high . A minute later Murray tried an effort from 25 yards out that was saved . With time on the home sides side they broke up the park and Birse should have done better when rounding the advancing Wallace but Chris Townsley done well to get back and take the ball away before he could roll the ball into the empty net . With Broxburn pushing up for an equaliser they got caught with the sucker punce counter attack with Connor Brise chasing a ball into the left hand side of the visitors box before crossing to the back post where BRYAN DEASLEY was to head home the points clincher for the Scottish Junior Cup semi finalist’s .Broxburn had one more chance when Michael Linton set up Craig Scott with a ball from the left but the latter’s shot was saved . Disapointing to taste defeat after a long run unbeaten but we will dust ourselves down and get ready to go again at Hill of Beath on Saturday . .

Newtongrange Kicked off in bright sunshine but it was the visitors who created the first opportunity when on eleven minutes Alexander Murray was sent through on goals but fired wildly over ,but thankfully for him the assistant had his flag up and it would not have counted had it gone in . A couple of minutes later Nicholas Locke sent a great ball across the box but there was no takers and Anderson collected it at the corner flag to which he won a throw in of a defender . From the throw in a great ball into the six yard box found Alexander Miller who had a free header with just the keeper to beat but out it past the far left post from the right side of the six yard box . Newtongrange had a chance on 19 minutes when a ball into the box broke to Jack Wilson who shot straight at Connor Wallace who saved easily . Ryan Porteous tried his luck half way through the half but saw his shot well saved .A minute later great work and passing between Alexander Murray and Alexander Miller set up Kieran Anderson at the back of the six yard box but he disappointingly blasted the ball high over the bar. Miller set up Anderson again a minute later this time Anderson’s shot went wide of the goals . On 27 minutes Kyle Scott made a great run down the right into the box but saw his shot deflected for a corner . Just past the half hour mark Kenny O’Brien was allowed time to compose a shot but shot weakly into Wallace’s arms .Gordon Donaldson tried his luck from 20 yards out but saw it sail over the bar . With seven minutes remaining Ryan Porteous made a good run down the left and cut the ball across the box where Wallace cut the ball out . A couple of minutes later Murray and Miller almost took advantage of indecision in the home defence but the home defence regrouped and cleared the danger . Newtongrange Star went on a counter attack with three minutes of the half remaining and Kyle Scott got around Grant Gavin who slipped and let the forward in on goal but he shot early with the keeper to beat and it went safely over the bar . The last chance of the game fell to Scott again but Christopher Townsley and Connor Wallace stopped the chance between them .
The second half started with the visitors pressing for the opener and it came on 51 minutes when NICHOLAS LOCKE got the ball on the right hand side and cut infield before striding forward and firing home into the bottom right hand corner giving Kieron Renton no chance .two minutes later Locke tried again from 20 yards out but this time his shot was saved . Approaching the hour mark and Locke got down the left hand side before crossing to the back of the six yard box where Alexander Miller headed goal ward but Renton saved the attempt . Anderson set up Locke after the hour mark when Locke cut inside and shot Renton saved well . Anderson set up Murray two minutes later but the home defence stood firm and cleared the danger . DALE O’HARA fired his free kick straight at the wall but it bounced straight back to him and this time he put it away in the bottom right hand corner .Miller made a good run down the right hand side into the box but saw his shot stopped by the keeper . With ten minutes remaining and the game looking as though it could go anyway Scott McNaughton tried a free kick from the left hand side ,just outside the box but it went past the right hand post . Nicholas Locke sent Kieran Anderson down the left hand side and his ball across the box was cut out by the defender .Locke was the next to see a cross defended well and cut out and cleared from danger . A Miller shot was deflected for a corner and when the corner came in Miller at the back post headed goal ward at the left hand side but his attempt was headed off the line by Darren Smith who was at the right hand post for the corner . Sean Melvin had a shot from 20 yards sail over the bar as both sides pushed for a winner .The winner in the final minute of normal time came when Kieran Anderson floated in a free kick into the six yard box from half way inside the hosts half centre of the park it was headed clear left where ROSS NIMMO gathered and as everybody was expecting a cross back into the box he fired a rocket into the far left top corner that Kieron Renton only saw when it came back out the net a fitting goal to win any match .
